According to Microsoft’s blog post (cnet), there are now three options
for users who want to stay on Windows 10 and still receive security updates:

  1. Use Windows Backup to sync settings to the cloud via OneDrive (option 1)
  2. Redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points (option 2)
    • You can earn points by using Bing, Microsoft Edge, or completing daily activities.
    • Redeem those points for one year of security updates.
    • Learn more on Microsoft Rewards or Edge Learning Center.

  3. Pay $30 for the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program (option 3)
    – Paid option guarantees updates until October 13, 2026.
    – Businesses can purchase up to three years of updates.
    – Details available on Microsoft Learn and Tom’s Hardware.

  4. Just update to Windows 11, it’s super stable since version 24h2 anyway (option 4)
Microsoft will roll-out the ESU-wizard in juli 2025.
